The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have announced that technical difficulties at the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) Gas Processing Plant (GPP) in Atuabo are causing intermittent power outages.

In a joint statement, GRIDCo and ECG explained that the issue has significantly reduced the supply of gas, which is impacting power generation. “Due to a challenge at the Ghana National Gas Limited Company Gas Processing Plant at Atuabo, gas supply for power generation has been limited, causing some customers to experience intermittent interruptions in power supply,” the statement revealed.

Both companies have assured the public that efforts are underway to fix the problem. “We apologise unreservedly for the inconveniences caused to the public as a result of this challenge,” they stated.

According to the release, GNGC engineers are working diligently to restore the full gas supply. “Engineers from GNGC are currently working to address the issue and restore full supply of gas,” it added.
