I firmly believe that the Asantehene, my king, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is supreme. No words from anyone can degrade him.
As an Asante, a proud Asona Dehye3, I hold Asanteman in the highest esteem, and I won’t stoop to debating other tribes about who is the true king in Ghana.
I refuse to fall for any tactics that aim to tarnish my king’s reputation. Instead, I suggest that those who think their tribe is superior should proudly promote their own heritage, just as I do mine.
It’s puzzling to see some Asantes claiming to fight for Otumfuo and Asanteman, yet they remain silent when our king seeks support for the renovation of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital through the Heal Komfo Anokye Project.
Where are their press conferences and public appeals urging others to back the King’s initiative? Unfortunately, their voices are instead used to fuel meaningless conflicts. It’s time to end this hypocrisy.
A genuine Asante would never ignore the King’s call and pretend to be fighting for him alongside empty vessels seeking attention on the airwaves.
As an Asante, it’s disheartening to see our revered King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, seeking funds to renovate Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, only to be met with indifference from his own people. This iconic hospital, Ghana’s second-largest teaching hospital, receives referrals from 12 out of 16 regions, yet faces serious infrastructural challenges.
The Asantehene’s 25th Anniversary Legacy Projects aim to address these challenges, providing essential infrastructure and services for the community’s health and wellbeing. However, the project’s success hinges on our collective support. It’s time for Asanteman to rally behind our King’s vision.
The State of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital
Patients seeking medical care are met with a dilapidated environment, lacking modern amenities and posing health risks.
Rusty beds, cracked floors, and broken windows are a stark reality.
The hospital’s lack of firefighting systems, data networks, and basic amenities exacerbates the situation.
A Call to Action
As Asantes, we must prioritize our King’s initiatives over petty squabbles and misinformation. The Heal Komfo Anokye Project is not just a renovation effort; it’s a testament to our commitment to quality healthcare and community development.
We should channel our energy into promoting the King’s call, rather than spreading negativity. Organisations like Paa Solo Tyres, Council of Ghanaian Chiefs- Holland, Vodafone Ghana Foundation and many more have already supported. It’s time for us to follow suit.
Supporting the Heal Komfo Anokye Project
Let’s put aside tribal debates and unite behind our King’s vision. We can make a difference by:
- Spreading awareness_ about the project’s importance
- Donating to support the renovation efforts
- Volunteering our skills and time
Together, we can make Asanteman great. Let’s rise above ignorance and support Otumfuo’s noble cause. The time to act is now.
