Michael Baidoo, Abu Francis, Jonas Adjetey, and Ibrahim Sadick have received a late call-up for Ghana’s crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.
They come in to replace Thomas Partey, Joseph Painstil, Kingsley Schindler, and Ibrahim Osman who have been ruled out due to injury.
The four players are expected to join the squad in Accra ahead of the Group F qualifiers.
Michael Baidoo was the subject of attention in the Black Stars coach’s press conference to announce his squad for the two games following the omission of the Elfsborg man.
Baidoo has been a standout player for the Swedish team, playing in 14 games, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists across all competitions.
His impressive form saw him power Elfsborg to reach the group stages of the UEFA Europa League where he was involved in six goals.
Francis, who has been invited to the national team, is set to join the squad for Tuesday’s training session, replacing Thomas Partey and Majeed Ashimeru who are injured.
Francis has made 10 appearances this season in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League for Cercle Brugge but is yet to feature for Ghana in a competitive match.
Jonas Adjetey, who was recently invited in place of Alexander Djiku, has been making a name for himself in the Swiss Super League. He previously played for Teshie Football Academy, Accra Great Olympics and Berekum Chelsea before joining FC Basel.
AZ Alkmaar forward Ibrahim Sadiq is part of four players to have received a late callup following injuries to some of the players invited by Otto Addo.
Sadiq, having started well in the 2024/25 season with AZ, is replacing Ibrahim Osman due to an injury.
The former Right to Dream Academy graduate comes into the senior national team for the first time having played for the junior ranks during his career.
