Ghana’s Black Sharks defeated Tanzania 10-3 in the last Group A match to avoid having to head home early from the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite losing to Egypt and Morocco in their first two games, the team delivered a strong performance to defeat Tanzania and extend their stay in the competition.
A quadruple from Alexander Adjei and a hat-trick from Wise Nyamadi inspired the team to victory on Tuesday morning.
Ghana took a 4-0 lead in the first quarter after Nyamadi scored, followed by goals from Adjei goalkeeper Robert Nyadedzor and Richard Osai.
Tanzania pulled one back after the break, but Nyamadi maintained their advantage in a highly competitive second period.
Ghana secured an 8-2 lead with goals from Adjei, who added two more goals and finished the period with his fourth goal.
In the final period, Nyamadi and Nyadedzor scored to make it ten for Ghana but however, there was a late consolation for Tanzania but it was not enough for any comeback.
Black Sharks next will face the third-placed team in Group B as the tournament progresses.
