Joana Gyan Cudjoe Doesn’t Qualify to be MP – Amenfi Central MP Insists, Defends Decision to Run as Independent

The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Peter Yaw Kwakye-Ackah, has made a startling revelation that the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate, Joana Gyan Cudjoe doesnt deserve to be MP.

According to him, some elements in the NDC accepted money in exchange for manipulating the outcome of the primaries in her favor.

He also added that the party’s decision to choose Joana Gyan to run on its ticket for the Amenfi Central Constituency in the 2024 general elections was influenced by financial incentives from some individuals with dubious intentions.

“Whenever it’s primaries, you see people coming from abroad, they are not in the party, you know, they come and pay some money and win the election. Then in the general election, they are missing.”

He urged the NDC to address this issue, warning that allowing individuals who are not fully committed to the party to contest could lead to their disappearance during the general election.

He emphasized the need to cleanse the political system to prevent “unscrupulous elements” such as drug lords and corrupt individuals from being elected to Parliament, which could negatively impact the executive, judiciary, and media.

Despite his frustrations, he affirmed that he still remains a member of the NDC but is running as an independent candidate due to his belief that his opponent does not meet the necessary qualifications to contest.
