The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Caucus in Parliament has vowed to protect its newfound majority status come Tuesday when the house resumes.

This development is in spite of a ruling by a five-member panel of the Supreme Court chaired by the Chief Justice freezing the declaration of seats of 4 MPs vacant by Speaker Alban Bagbin over the witching of allegiance.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) caucus after the Supreme Court ruling announced its members will return when sitting resumes given the pronouncement from the apex court of the land.

Addressing the media leader of the Majority Caucus Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson stated his side will use the new status to abolish the E-levy and betting tax.

“We are the Majority and will Jealously Protect our newly Majority status and we will not abdicate our status as majority”, Dr. Forson stated.

Chief Whip and MP for Adaklu Governs Kwame Agbodza disclosed his side has picked intelligence the military will be deployed to the chamber of Parliament on Tuesday.

He consequently cautioned government against such a move since his side will do everything possible to protect the constitution and fight corruption.
