Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang

Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate has dared Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, running mate of NPP to provide evidence to prove that NDC created a curriculum that teaches students about LGBTQ+.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, last week asserted that upon assuming office as Minister of Education, he discovered that the NDC, under the leadership of Okudzeto Ablakwa, had developed a curriculum that included Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) for school children.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is a curriculum-based process designed to teach about the cognitive, emotional, physical, and social aspects of sexuality which include issues of LGBTQ+.

The controversial curriculum faced implementation challenges by the NPP government due to disapproval of its content by a majority of Ghanaians.

After years of this controversy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh recently blamed the NDC for developing the curriculum.

However speaking on Radio I, a local FM station in Bunso on Wednesday as part of her two-day campaign of the Eastern Region, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang refuted the claim and challenged Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to produce evidence.

“Is that what he is saying? Why has he been quiet all this while? Why has it taken him so long to disclose it? We all need prayers. That’s all that I will say. He should produce documents as evidence. He is the one alleging so let him bring proof. He should produce that document. Let him bring the document that shows that we created a curriculum that contained LGBTQ+”.
