A former player of the Black Stars, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, has revealed there are cracks/issues within the players in the Black Stars after the unfortunate incident between Black Stars goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Jordan Ayew after the 2-0 defeat to Sudan on Tuesday.

In a video sighted on social media, the two players were spotted exchanging words in a heated argument and had to be separated by their teammates.

In an interview on GhOne TV with Benjamin Yamoah and Monica Bukari, the FIFA U-20 World Cup winner, Agyeman Badu, revealed that this is a glaring sign of deep cracks in the team.

“If there is a problem at home and you can’t solve it, it escalates and comes out. And that is exactly what I’m talking about. You could see that it was petty. And we just leave it like that. And now it has escalated, and it has exploded. And that is exactly what we are seeing”.

“We have been there. I know when you see their body language when you speak to some of the players, they tell you what is going on”.

The former Udinese star, however, suggested addressing national team issues amicably with key players.

“The only thing I can say is the privilege I got talking to you on your great station that they will go fast so that people will know what is going on”.

“That is the only thing I can do now. Please, there are cracks in the national team, let’s not massage it. They should sit down with some of the big players in the team and try to solve it amicably. Else, if today you sack the coach and bring Pep Guardiola, things will not change” he told GHOne TV.

The Black Stars will now have to win their two remaining games of the qualifiers while hoping that Sudan loses their respective matches in order to avoid not qualifying for the AFCON for the first time in 20 years.
