The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has made a significant step towards operational excellence and financial modernization with the opening of its new $250 million state-of-the-art headquarters in Accra.
The project was inaugurated by President Akufo-Addo and Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor Dr. Ernest Addison on November 20, 2024.
In the governor’s address, he highlighted the key economic achievements of the fourth republic. He said, there has been rapid growth and development in Ghana’s financial sector, driven by the vision to make Accra the financial gateway to the sub-region.
Dr. Addison emphasized the significance of the facility in enabling hundreds of local workers to enhance their trades and crafts and setting new standards in Africa’s modern construction industry.
“The construction of the “THE BANK SQUARE” has provided an invaluable opportunity for hundreds of local workers to upskill their trades and crafts. It has equipped them with the expertise to create buildings that set standards in sustainability and craftmanship, positioning them at the forefront of modern construction in Africa.
He highlighted that the headquarters is designed to honour and celebrate Ghana’s future, to boost bank productivity, and drive further success.
“This civic building is designed to honour, shape and celebrate the future of Ghana. This state-of-the-art facility will foster creativity, collaboration, and efficiency, and undoubtedly it will enhance productivity in the Bank and further drive our success.
He emphasized that the new headquarters is a symbol of progress and a facilitator for growth in Ghana’s financial sector. The state-of-the-art facility is anticipated to enhance the country’s adaptability to global financial trends and provide a strong foundation for economic development.
