Sexy Don Don

Daniel Asiedu, the man accused of murdering Abuakwa North Member of Parliament (MP), Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu, has denied claims and allegations by the Prosecution that he killed the late lawmaker.

He claims that he didn’t know the MP or his home, except when police showed him a picture and subsequently took Dampare’s order.

Asiedu, known as Sexy Don Don, is facing a jury trial at the High Court in Accra, presided over by Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, for the MP’s murder on February 8, 2016.

He is in the witness box mounting defense after the prosecution led by Mrs. Sefakor Batse, a Principal State Attorney, had closed its case and the court held that Asiedu has a case to answer.

Apart from murder, he is also facing a charge of robbery despite being acquitted on the charge of conspiracy with Vincent Bossu, who has since been freed.

Asiedu said claims by the police and the prosecution that he killed the late JB Danquah are not true.

“What the police are saying is not true. If not for the day I went to the Police Station to lodge my complaint and Dampare and his men took me to the deceased house, I did not know the place.

“He ordered his men and took me there,” he told the Court while being led by his lawyer Yaw Dankwah to give further evidence.

“All that the police are saying is not the truth. If not for the day that Dampare showed the deceased picture to me I have never seen him before.

“I have no issues with anybody and I have not done any wrong with anybody,” he told the jury.

The case is adjourned to November 12, 2024 for continuation.
