The fifth edition of the Starr Woman Project commenced with a Radio discussion on Monday, June 19 on Starr Drive ahead of the main event on June 24.
The week-long radio discussion will feature distinguished female entrepreneurs and personalities who have thrived and doing well in their career. It is aimed at impacting young entrepreneurs with their story.
The “Starr Woman Project” an initiative of Starr 103.5FM seeks to equip young women entrepreneurs with the relevant knowledge, skills and motivation to achieve their fullest potential as entrepreneurs.
Speaking on the topic “How to pick up the pieces after failure”, the 2016 NDC Parliamentary Aspirant for the Weija-Gbawe constituency, Obuobia Darko-Opoku told Anita Erskine and Giovani on Starr Drive that it is always important that “as you go up you remain humble and respect all.”
She added that failure should not turn “your world upside down or belittle who you are but it should rather strengthen you and make you push for more.”
“It is important that you stay determined, focused, keep your eyes on the prize and do not be deterred by what others think, don’t be distracted. It is also important to recognize that not all who praise and hail you are your friends or fans. God has a purpose for everyone and the fact that you failed today does not mean it is the end of the world. It means your time is not up yet and at the right time you will also shine,” the former deputy Executive Secretary of the Free Zones Board advised.
The Starr woman project will come off on Saturday, June 24 at the Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel at 9am. The event will commence with registration of participants at 8:30am followed by a general meeting with seasoned speakers which includes:
