Ghanaian rap artiste, Kwesi Arthur lost out to South African music icon Sjava at  the 2018 edition of Black Entertainment Awards (BET Awards) Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act category.

The  Awards was held on Saturday June, 24 in Los Angeles, USA.

The ‘Grind Day’ singer who won the Hip-Pop song of the Year at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has won the hearts of most music lovers with songs like  ‘Ade Akye’ and ‘Anthem.’

The Tema-based rapper who was the only Ghanaian nominee, unfortunately couldn’t sweep the prestigious award after Sarkodie and Stonebwoy won in 2012 and 2015 Best International Act Africa respectively.

The BET Awards was established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans and other American minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year.

The awards are presented annually, and are broadcast live on BET. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by artistes, and some of the awards of more popular interest are presented in a televised ceremony.
