President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which is currently threatening the peace and stability of the whole world and has gained a 9 case footing in Ghana will surely pass with all its accompanying hardships.

The President gave this assurance when he addressed a group of eminent clergyman at the Jubilee House during a prayer breakfast session to intercede on behalf of the country for God’s power to stop the spread of the virus in Ghana.

“These are not ordinary times eminent clergy and in such times, a country’s who population is predominantly Christian, must seek the face of the one true God for healing and restoration,” President Akufo-Addo said.

“I am confident that this morning’s prayer which will be offered in faith will help heal our nation, and will help raise Ghana up. I believe profoundly that we the Ghanaian people with our faith in the Almighty will overcome this challenge. This too will pass” President added.

The eminent clergy who participated in the prayer meeting offered prayers to God on various topics. Archbishop John Bonaventure Kwofie prayed against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in Ghana. Rt. Rev. Professor J. O. Y. Mante offered prayers for all frontline health workers in the country’s fight against the spread of Covid-19 in Ghana and Apostle Eric Nyamekye focused his prayers on securing the safety and healing of Covid-19 victims and infected persons in Ghana.

The Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams prayed for the government of Ghana for the release of God’s Supernatural Grace upon them to make decisions that will go a long way to halt the spread of the virus in Ghana. Rt. Rev. Asante Antwi prayed for the President with Rev. Joyce Aryee praying for the covering of God over the entire country, Ghana.

The Rev. Joseph Eastwood Anaba, summed up the prayers by praying for the world at large asking for God’s direct intervention to end the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ghana over the last eight (8) days has recorded nine (9) confirmed Covid-19 cases within its shores. Nearly 400 contact tracing persons have also been identified and are being monitored by health officials.

The President has also issued executive orders that have resulted in the closure of all schools in the country and churches for the next four (4) weeks as well as a ban on public gatherings in the country for the next four weeks.

The country’s borders and ports of entry have also introduced tightened control regimes to prevent imported cases in the country.
