The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah on Saturday May 10, 2025, organized a free health screening event for hundreds of mothers in the Okaikwei Central Constituency at Lapaz, Fidelity Bank.
The event, in partnership with the Triage Centre/Sangy Global, aimed to promote breast and cervical health awareness among women.
The health screening, which included blood pressure checks and vital sign monitoring, was conducted by healthcare professionals to mark this year’s Mother’s Day Celebration.
This initiative provided mothers within and around Okaikwei Central with essential health information, empowering them to take control of their well-being.
The legislator has hosted various health initiatives in the past with hospitals and NGOs, providing free medicines and other support.
According to the former Chairman for the Finance Committee of Parliament, the event was part of his ongoing efforts to improve healthcare services in the constituency.
“We recognize the importance of preventive care, especially for mothers who often put others’ needs before their own. By providing access to these health screenings, we hope to promote early detection and prevention, potentially saving lives.”
Residents expressed gratitude to the legislator for his continuous dedication to their health and well-being.
The event sets the stage for future health-focused programmes in the constituency, further solidifying Patrick Boamah’s commitment to serving his constituents.
