The final batch of deputy ministerial nominees appointed by President John Dramani Mahama will appear before Parliament’s Appointments Committee today, Friday, July 25, 2025.
The four nominees, all sitting Members of Parliament, are expected to be vetted as part of the ongoing ministerial confirmation process. They are:
- James Gyakye Quayson, MP for Assin North – Deputy Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs
- Mohammed Adam Sukparu, MP for Sissala West – Deputy Minister-designate for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation
- Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP for Essikado-Ketan – Deputy Minister-designate for Health
- Dorcas Affo-Toffey, MP for Jomoro – Deputy Minister-designate for Transport
The appointments were made in line with Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution, which mandate the President to nominate ministers and their deputies in consultation with Parliament.
The nominees, if approved, will support their respective ministers in executing the government’s strategic plans and ensuring the smooth delivery of President Mahama’s policy priorities across key sectors.
