I’m impressed with your work – Barbados High C’ssioner endorses Ghana’s first kids’ podcast

Ghana’s first-ever kids’ podcast, the Best Girlfriends (BGF), has received a glowing endorsement from the Barbados High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland.

The diplomat, who recently hosted the four young podcasters at the High Commission, praised the 10-year-old girls for their intelligence, confidence, and creativity, calling their work “brilliant” and “charismatic.”

“I see your podcast and you ladies are very smart, very brilliant, very charismatic,” she told the girls.

Her comments came after appearing in a recent episode titled “We Travelled to Barbados for Career Advice,” where the girls interviewed her about leadership, careers, and global opportunities.

The episode has since been lauded by listeners for the poise and curiosity the young hosts displayed.

She added, “I wanted to do this. I’m perhaps going to be the only ambassador, but I’ll encourage my sister ambassadors to also do it because I’m so impressed with the work you’re doing. I love the What’s in Our Bag episode.”

Produced by Egli Studios, the Best Girlfriends Podcast launched on June 21, 2025, and has quickly gained traction among both children and adults.

Hosted by best friends Viphine, Babette, Elaine, and Kelly Ann, the show airs every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. on YouTube and GHOne TV.

Each episode explores topics ranging from school life and friendship to creativity, health, and cultural trends , all from a child’s perspective.

The show’s debut trailer trended at number one on X (formerly Twitter), with all four hosts appearing among the top five trends.

Within its first week, the podcast racked up over 200,000 TikTok views and reached more than 50,000 people on Instagram, signaling the public’s appetite for fresh, youth-centered content.

“Children have so much to say, but too often they are left out of the big conversations,” said Aggor Yorm, Creative Director of Egli Studios. “With Best Girlfriends, we wanted to flip that script, giving kids not just a platform, but a whole stage where their voices lead.”

The High Commissioner’s endorsement is being seen as a major moment for the show, a diplomatic seal of approval that underscores the broader cultural value of the project.

Critics and educators have described the podcast as a rare, positive space for children to see themselves reflected in media while also offering adults meaningful, family-friendly content.

Upcoming episodes will feature talent showcases, trending challenges, sports adventures, and more career conversations, as Egli Studios expands the BGF project into school tours, live events, and brand partnerships.

“We see Best Girlfriends as more than just a podcast,” Yorm added. “It’s a social movement. It’s about raising confident children, building new role models, and showing that Ghana can lead in creative children’s media.”

With the support of influential figures like H.E. Bynoe-Sutherland, the Best Girlfriends Podcast is proving that even the smallest voices can make the biggest impact and that the world is ready to listen to these fearless little voices.
