The Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Matthew Nyindam, has described his legal struggle to retain his parliamentary seat as frustrating and draining after the Supreme Court upheld his victory in a 4–1 majority decision.
Speaking with Serwaa Amihere on GHOne TV on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Nyindam said the ruling confirmed his mandate for the 2024 parliamentary elections.
“It was not easy to struggle to win a seat in Ghana and for some reasons you were just at the verge of losing your seat. It’s been heartbreaking. But at the end of the day, thank God today, the mercy of the judges, the four to one verdict I got from the Supreme Court has confirmed my victory,” he said.
He recounted that the period between November 24, 2025, when the High Court delivered its verdict, and January 28, 2026, when the Supreme Court gave its final ruling, was extremely challenging.
“It’s not been easy, my dear sister. It’s been very frustrating. It’s been very, very tiresome. It’s been consuming of resources,” he stated.
Despite the challenges, Nyindam said he is now fully focused on serving the people of Banda.
“I’m back to Parliament and I’m performing my responsibility as a Member of Parliament,” he added.
He also expressed gratitude to his supporters and described his return as an act of divine grace.
“It’s just by the grace of God. Let me put it that way,” he said.
