The Chief Justice (CJ) has directed that a virtual link be created for the live streaming of Court proceedings in the ongoing ambulance case.
Following the directive from the Chief Justice, Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo, the presiding judge, Justice Afia Asare-Botwe has said those present in the Courtroom can leave if they want to.
Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has begun the cross examination of Mr Richard Jakpa, a third accused person in what is expected to be the Prosecution’s last cross examination of the businessman.
Richard Jakpa, a businessman is standing trial together with Minority Leader Dr Cassiel Ato Forson for what prosecution alleges to be willfully causing financial loss to the Republic to the tuneof 2.37 million euros following purchase of ambulances.
The accused persons have pleaded not guilty and are standing trial before Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe, a Justice of the Court of Appeal sitting as an additional High Court judge.
Both Prosecution and Dr Forson, the first accused person have all closed their Cases with Mr Jakpa in the Witness Box.
Mr Jakpa who had accused the Attorney General of coercing him to have the former finance Minister jailed is expected to face his last cross examination from the Attorney General.
