Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has expressed gratitude to President-Elect John Mahama for nominating him for a second term as Speaker of the 9th Parliament.
Speaker Bagbin also thanked the National Executives and the Parliamentary Leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a statement after his nomination by the President-elect, Speaker Bagbin also pledged to uphold the principles of justice, fairness, and respect for the rule of law while ensuring that Parliament operates with integrity, transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness.
“I am deeply humbled by His Excellency’s confidence in my ability to lead the august House as we begin a new chapter in our nation’s democratic journey,” Mr. Bagbin stated.
