The Black Stars produced a commanding performance to dismantle the Central African Republic (CAR) 5-0 in their penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier, keeping their hopes of a fifth appearance at the global showpiece firmly alive.
The encounter showcased Ghana’s attacking flair, tactical discipline, and growing confidence under head coach Otto Addo. Goals from Mohammed Salisu, Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku, Jordan Ayew, and Kamaldeen Sulemana secured a resounding win for the four-time African champions.
Ghana dominated proceedings from the onset, controlling possession and tempo through a composed midfield led by Thomas Partey and Kwasi Sibo. Their persistence paid off in the 20th minute when defender Mohammed Salisu rose highest to head home from a Mohammed Kudus corner, setting the tone for a commanding display.
