Nana Owiredu Wadie I, Chairman of Kabaka Group of Companies and Kwahu-Nkwatia Nkosouhene, accompanied by the Colombian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Daniel Garces paid a courtesy visit to the Vice President, Her Excellency Francia Marquez of Colombia in Bogota.
This meeting marks a significant step in fostering international relations between the private sector in Ghana and the Colombian government.
Kabaka Foundation Ghana, a subsidiary of Kabaka Group of Companies, is poised to benefit from the direct foreign investment and international business partnerships forged during this visit.
The Chairman Nana Owiredu Wadie (I) stressed on the potential for partnership between Kabaka Group of Companies and Colombian businesses, emphasizing the positive impact on Ghana’s economic development and job creation.
During the one-week Foreign Investment & International Business Partnership visit, the Kabaka Group, along with the Colombian Ambassador and his team, engaged with Directors of the Colombia Ministry of Trade and Procolombia, mirroring Ghana’s GIPC. The visit to the trade ministry of Colombia revealed that both the governments of Ghana and Colombia need to develop a framework to facilitate effective maritime routing of importation and exportation of goods and services between the two countries.
The delegation from Ghana also paid a courtesy call to the Director of State Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia where issues of having a direct flight from Ghana to Colombia was discussed to boost travel and tourism between the two countries.
The Kabaka group visited civil construction materials manufacturers in Medellín and Barranquilla all in Colombia and some partnerships were established to import some construction materials and also build mini production plants in Ghana, especially in Kwahu Nkwatia so as to create jobs and support the construction industry in Ghana.
The collaborative efforts aim to attract foreign investment into Ghana, contributing to the nation’s growth and development.
Nana Owiredu Wadie(I) expressed optimism that the strengthened ties between Kabaka Group of Companies and Colombian entities will result in tangible benefits for both nations, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship on the business front.
