A three-member panel of the Court of Appeal has struck out the Attorney-General’s application for stay of execution against the acquittal of former MASLOC CEO, Sedina Christine Tamakloe-Attionu.
This was after the withdrawal of the application by the prosecution on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
“The Republic, applicant herein, wishes to withdraw the application filed on July 30. We filed the notice of withdrawal on August 10, 2026,” Hilda Craig, a Principal State Attorney, told the court.
Sidney Antonio, counsel for Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, said they did not oppose the State’s request to withdraw the application, except to note that the State should have sought leave of the court.
The three-member panel presided over by Justice Sophia Rosetta Benasko Essah, while striking out the application as withdrawn, said it had a warrant from the Chief Justice to sit on the matter to deliver its ruling.
She said the matter was initially scheduled for ruling but following the withdrawal by the AG, the application had been struck out as withdrawn.
