The District Court has, on Wednesday, 26th February 2025, remanded into Police custody the suspect Samuel Adjei in connection with the fatal shooting incident that occurred during an enstoolment ceremony at Nungua in the Greater Accra Region on Saturday, 22nd February 2025.
In a statement, the police explained that the suspect was arraigned on the charge of murder.
“Preliminary investigations have indicated that during the enstoolment ceremony, the suspect allegedly discharged live ammunition from a single-barrel gun, striking the deceased, Naa Borley Ahmed, in the right thigh. She was rushed to the Hospital for medical attention but died while receiving treatment.
“Following his arrest, Samuel Adjei was put before the court where he was remanded and expected to reappear on Wednesday, 12th March 2025”, the police added.
