Member of Parliament for Builsa South and Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, is set to distribute over 4000 mono desks to schools in the constituency.
The desks are expected to be delivered to schools across the district in the coming weeks as part of efforts to improve teaching and learning conditions.
The intervention comes alongside the commencement of major educational infrastructure projects valued at over GH¢41 million across the constituency.
Dr. Apaak has handed over multiple sites for construction under projects funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), aimed at expanding access to quality education and improving school facilities.
The projects include the construction of a two-storey District Education Directorate office complex in Fumbisi, a three-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities at Bachonsa, and a kindergarten block with auxiliary facilities at Zamsa.
Additional works involve two-storey dormitory blocks for both boys and girls, as well as a three-bedroom headmaster’s bungalow at Kanjarga Senior High School.
A six-unit classroom block at Nadema-Luisa and a three-unit classroom block at Kanjarga Nyansa are also part of the projects.
The developments are expected to reduce classroom congestion and improve the learning environment for students and teachers within the district.
District Director of Education Richard Akum-Nyemi acknowledged the interventions undertaken by the Member of Parliament to improve education delivery, including the provision of desks.
He noted that the projects, when completed, are expected to contribute to improved academic performance across schools in Builsa South.
All projects are scheduled for completion within 12 months.

The site handover was attended by District Chief Executive Anne Musah, the District Director of Education, contractors, and party constituency executives led by Chairman Caesar Akinkang, along with other officials from the assembly.
Residents and stakeholders in the district have welcomed the projects, describing them as a significant investment in education.
