Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong has endorsed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next Presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, among all ten (10) aspirants for the flagbearer position in the party, Dr. Bawumia stands tall and with the capacity to lead the NPP win 2024 Presidential election to break the eight year conventional change of power.

The former MP for Mpraeso said this Sunday August 13,2023 when addressing delegates at Mpraeso on the final day of campaign in the Eastern region by Dr. Bawumia and his campaign team.

He said “I am here to speak to you about the next flagbearer of the NPP. Someone who will lead us cross the red sea to the promise land. Among all the 10 candidates aspiring to lead the NPP, I am closer to all of them but I have listened and assessed all of them I believe strongly, if NPP wants to break the eight ,then it is only one person(Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ) who will lead us do that for the party. Mpraeso people you know how I communicate things dear to my heart. All the votes must go for Dr. Bawumia. He has always stood for Mpraeso constituency in every election he has come here many times to campaign so you can’t disappoint him”.

Dr. Bawumia and his campaign team engagement with delegates in all 33 constituencies Eastern region commenced in August 6, 2023.

He has received overwhelming endorsement by both sitting members of Parliament and constituency and polling station executives.

Member of Parliament for Okere also Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Dan Botwe for the first time also openly endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

He said in his speech that “Since we started this flagbearership campaign, I have not spoken. But today I will speak. I was elected General Secretary of the NPP 25 years ago. I have had experience working under several stalwarts of the Party. I know the NPP very well. I know very well all the 10 people contesting. But I am here at Okere saying this. That anyone who knows me know that I speak the truth and you cannot influence me with anything.

I love all the aspirants, but I love the NPP more. My friends in the NPP, if we look at what is happening in Ghana and NPP now, we are looking into the future. Based on my knowledge of the Party and judging from what is happening, I want to say and ask all of you to go and vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. We have to be very strategic as a party in order to win 2024 and the best strategic decision is to elect Vice president Bawumia as our flagbearer”.

Ten (10) aspirants -Kennedy Ohene Agyapong , Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Joe Ghartey ,Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku ,Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto ,Kwabena Agyei Agyepong ,and Francis Addai Nimo, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku ,Boakye Kyerematen Agyarko and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
