Funeral arrangements for renowned Ghanaian musician KODA rescheduled

The family of the late Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, popularly known as KODA, has announced a rescheduled date for his funeral. Initially set for July 5, 2024, the new date is now September 20, 2024. This update was shared in a recent Facebook post by KODA’s family.

“We wish to inform all well-wishers, friends, ministry partners, and the general public that the date for the celebration of life for our beloved brother Kofi Dua Anto has been changed from 5th July 2024 to 20th September 2024,” the family stated. The funeral service will be held at the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Dominion Centre on Spintex Road in Accra, followed by a private burial ceremony.

KODA, a beloved figure in the Ghanaian music scene, passed away on April 21, 2024, at the age of 45, following a brief illness. Known for his dual talents as a singer and producer, KODA left a significant mark on the industry. He is survived by his wife and three children.

The rescheduled funeral date provides additional time for family, friends, and fans to prepare to honor KODA’s life and legacy.

BIO ABOUT KODA

Born on December 14, 1978, in Takoradi, Ghana, KODA has carved out a distinguished career in the gospel music industry, known for his unique musical style that blends traditional African rhythms with contemporary gospel sounds.

KODA’s musical journey began early in life, influenced by his participation in church choirs and local bands. His passion for music led him to pursue formal education in the field, obtaining a degree in Music and Psychology from the University of Cape Coast. This academic background provided him with a solid foundation in music theory and practice, which has been evident in the quality of his work.

Over the years, KODA has released several successful albums, including “Nyame Beye,” “Oxygen,” “Worship Therapy,” and “Hosanna.” His songs, such as “Hosanna,” “Nkwa Abodoo,” “Amen,” and “Made a Way,” have become anthems in the Ghanaian gospel music scene, appreciated for their powerful lyrics, inspiring messages, and engaging melodies. His music not only entertains but also uplifts and encourages listeners, reflecting his deep Christian faith and commitment to spreading the gospel through music.
