Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse Ghana, Robert Klah, has disclosed that the company is yet to secure its preferred venue for the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA 2026), scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026.
Speaking on Starr Showbiz with Feeling Daddy on Starr 103.5 FM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, Klah clarified that while the event will go on, the ideal venue required to deliver the expected production standards is currently unavailable.
“We don’t have a preferred venue yet,” he stated, explaining that although there will always be an alternative location, it may not meet the creative and logistical expectations of the organisers.
According to him, the Grand Arena (Accra International Conference Centre) has served as the home of the awards since 2019 due to its flexibility in design and production. He noted that the venue’s structure allows for more creative freedom, particularly in stage design, setup, and overall event experience.
However, he indicated that such a suitable space is currently lacking. “If you ask me, do we have the venue that we are looking forward towards to execute what we’re saying? No, we don’t have that,” he said.

Robert Klah stressed that the issue is not the absence of a venue altogether, but the lack of one that aligns with the scale and vision of the event.
“As an event house, you can’t go on this huge project without having your plan B and even C,” he added, assuring that contingency measures are in place.
Despite this, he maintained that the absence of a preferred venue could have implications for the overall execution of the awards.
