Ghana’s consumer inflation rose to 50.3% in November, up from 40.4% the previous month, Ghana Statistical Service said on Wednesday.
Month-on-month inflation between October and November 2022 was 8.6%, according to the GSS.
Food inflation (0.437) recorded a 55.3% increase compared to last month’s Food inflation which was 43.7%. Month-on-month Food inflation was 10.4%.
Non-food Inflation (0.563) also jumped to 46.5%. Last month’s Non-Food inflation rate was 37.8%, with Month-on-month Non-Food inflation hitting 7.2%.
Inflation for locally produced items was 48.3% while inflation for imported items was 55.1%.
The jump in inflation comes a day after authorities reached a staff-level Agreement with the International Monetary Fund(IMF) for a US$3bn, 3-year Extended Credit Facility (ECF).
