GoldBod Jewellery has unveiled its festive season catalogue, featuring a stunning array of locally-crafted pieces perfect for the holidays.

From elegant gold Chokers and necklaces, earrings, and Matching Bangles and Rings to beautiful Rings, GoldBod Jewellery is giving you the chance to treat yourself and loved ones to exquisite jewellery.

As a subsidiary of Ghana Gold Board, the Jewellery arm has become the game-changer towards redefining value addition in Ghana’s gold industry .

The state-run agency announced the restructuring and rebranding of its fully-owned Ghanaian jewellery manufacturing company, incorporated in the year 2016.

The move aims to serve customers with authentic and exquisite locally-crafted jewellery and ornaments and encourage the patronage of made-in Ghana jewellery.

The rebranding and value addition drive, has earned the praises of individuals and some players in the extractive industry.

Chairman of the Ghana Extractive Transparency Initiative, Dr. Steve Manteaw has asserted that the rebranding of Goldbod’s Jewellery arm is to leverage the country’s reputation for gold production.

Taking to his official Facebook page to comment on the rebranding of PMMC’s Jewellery Limited into GoldBod’s Jewellery Limited, Dr. Manteaw noted that “value addition is a game changer in this business. It adds value to our minerals, fetches more export revenue, creates jobs, and related to it additional tax revenue at both corporate and personal levels,”.

On his part, the founding president of Imani Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe has commended GoldBod for adding value to the commodity, urging the citizenry to purchase and invest in gold, including Jewellery.

“Folks, gold has proven to be the safest and most reliable store of value. Why not purchase and invest in gold yes, including jewellery,” he wrote on his social media handles.

The subsidiary took a major step toward positioning Ghana as a global jewellery powerhouse with the launch of its new e-commerce platform, jewellery.goldbod.gov.gh.

Addressing media and partners at the event, Managing Director of GoldBod Jewellery Getrude Emefa Donkor said the initiative marks the beginning of a new era in Ghana’s gold value-addition agenda, ending the longstanding cycle of exporting raw gold only to import high-value jewellery from abroad.

“Today, we break that cycle. Today, we are changing that story forever,” she declared.

In a bid to boost the local Jewellery industry, she said the rebrand aims to increase domestic production of high-quality jewellery, reducing Ghana’s dependence on imports.

According to Ms. Donkor, the retooling and rebranding are strategic move to showcase Ghana’s rich gold heritage and promote local craftsmanship.

This she noted will provide customers with unique made-in-Ghana pieces while supporting the local economy.
