Renowned Ghanaian pastor, Kumchacha, has strongly criticized the Ministry of Youth and Sports over the controversial $3 million expenditure during the 13th All African Games in Ghana.
The Ministry’s claim of paying $3 million to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) for broadcasting rights has been disputed by GBC’s Director-General, Professor Amin Alhassan, who stated that the corporation received only $105,000.
“How can the sports ministry spend over $3 million on broadcasting issues, and we are struggling to find out how it was spent? It is high time God deals with such corrupt people,” Kumchacha said in a video shared on YouTube by Trends TV.
He emphasized the need for divine intervention to address corruption, highlighting the suffering of the youth, lack of street lights, and poor road conditions as consequences of misused state funds.
Kumchacha also stated, “Our leaders always look fresh and nice, yet they are criminals and thieves causing us pain through corruption. When a pastor talks about corruption, some people say focus on the Bible, but we need to speak out about the rot.” He remains skeptical about the ministry’s explanation, calling for further accountability and transparency.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports released a statement detailing the African Games broadcast rights deal with GBC, which amounted to $3.6 million. However, Kumchacha is unconvinced and demands further clarification.
