A private-public collaboration, the Ghana-EU Tourism & Investment Summit, #GHETIS24, was held in various locations in Paris, France from March 6-8, 2024; on the Fringes of Ghana’s 67th Independence Celebration.

#GHETIS24 is a Trade Mission and Tourism Investment Conference, plus other activities that seek to promote Ghana’s tourism sector as well as other viable sectors for investment.

#GHETIS24 kicked off on March 6, 2024, when the Ghana Embassy in Paris collaborated with #GHETIS24 to host the Ghana @67 Independence Reception at Mairie du 16eme in Paris, France.

Welcoming a group of top dignitaries, business leaders, french government officials, and influential Ghanaians in France at the event, Ghana’s Ambassador to France, H.E. Anna Bossman reiterated the significance of March 6, 1957, to Ghanaians and how far the country has progressed 67 years on.

She was supported by Ms. Vivian Asempapa and Mr. Timothy Aidoo, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Consular Affairs respectively at the Ghana Embassy in France.

Amidst great Ghanaian music and the very best of Ghanaian cuisine, it was a great night to remember.

On March 7, 2024, a group from Ghana made up of business leaders, creative arts players, government officials, tourism think tanks, and executives of the tour operators union of Ghana, etc, took turns to visit some of the famous tourist sites in France.

On the 8th March 2024, the #GHETIS24 Conference was held at the 5-Star luxury Marriott Champs Elysees Hotel in Paris. Presentations were given by the leadership of the Ghana Embassy in France, the Ghana Coordinating Council in France, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, the Ministry of Trade & Industry, and other key organizations in the tourism space in France.

The King of Osu (Centre of Accra), HRM Nortse Nii Nortey Owuo IV, gave a compelling presentation on the key position of Osu in Ghana’s story and outlined various investment opportunities that one could take advantage of in Osu. A musical interlude saw a brief performance by Lamisi who played her yet-to-be-released song Zane Kinkin.

The #GHETIS24 PANEL DISCUSSION came off featuring France-based tourism expert, Mr. David Neequaye, CEO of Harmattan Birds; Ghanaian music legend, Samini; Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey; and Mr. Kwabena Otu- Executive Member of the Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA).

The strategically selected panel answered pertinent questions about why France & Europe, in general, should consider Ghana as its most preferred tourism destination in Africa and also cited areas that need investment in the Ghanaian tourism space.

The #GHETIS24 PANEL DISCUSSION was seamlessly moderated by Ms Joan Murielle, CEO of JMH Group. The event was hosted by Milly Antwi, CEO of Klesis Franchiseur.

Since its official launch at the Cape Coast Castle on February 25, 2023, #GHETIS24 has drawn its participants from sectors including hospitality, manufacturing, finance, construction/real estate, fashion, transportation, arts, agro-business, energy, etc.

In all, twenty-one (21) organizations/companies took part in the GHETIS 2024 Trade Mission. They were drawn from the above-mentioned sectors in Ghana.

Within the period of 5-9 March 2024 in France, a number of participating companies engaged in B2B expeditions including the following outfits: TAG Transport and Logistics Ltd, Ghana Post, Allied Financial Services, RAM Media Consult, office of the King of Osu, Integrated Food, Livestock and Petroleum Ltd, Monterey 7Eleven, Spotless Travel & Tour, Reckon Metal, Lisadel Travel & Tour; Obokese Foundation, Kirk Consult; Deroy International Education & Travel Ltd etc.

GHETIS 2024 is organized in partnership with the Ghana Embassy in France, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, the Ministry of Trade & Industry, Obokese Foundation with support from the French Embassy in Ghana, and sponsored by our proud partners.

#GHETIS24 was produced by Maxine Reindorf-Partey and Verus Nartey, the respective CEOs of Ghana Invest and Made In Ghana Consulting Ltd for the Destination Ghana Global Project (DGGP).
