Radio personality and host of Cup of Tea on Ultimate FM, Sachiel IBN Yaccub, popularly known as MC, has been named Morning Show Host of the Year (Ashanti Region) at the 15th edition of the Foklex Media Awards.

The awards ceremony, held at the GNAT Conference Hall in Accra, brought together leading media personalities and industry stakeholders to celebrate excellence in broadcasting and media practice across the country.

MC emerged as one of the night’s standout winners after clinching the 2026 Morning Show Host of the Year award for the Ashanti Region, in recognition of his growing influence within the region’s competitive radio landscape and his impact on morning radio programming.

The broadcaster currently hosts Cup of Tea on Ultimate 106.9 FM, a role he has risen to after years of working through different positions at the station.

MC began his broadcasting career in 2016 with Cape FM before later joining Ultimate FM, where he steadily built his profile in radio broadcasting.

Speaking after receiving the award, MC expressed appreciation to his listeners, supporters and the management of the station for their continuous support throughout his journey.

“This award means a lot to me. It is a recognition of the hard work, passion and dedication I put into my work every day. It also motivates me to keep improving and continue serving my audience with excellence,” he said.

He also dedicated the award to the management and production team of Ultimate FM, acknowledging their contribution to his success on the programme.

The Foklex Media Awards remains one of Ghana’s notable platforms that recognises outstanding achievements in radio, television and digital media.
