The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced a mandatory shift to a cashless payment system through GHANA.GOV, the government’s digital revenue collection platform.
The move, which takes immediate effect, aims to improve transparency, convenience, and accessibility in financial transactions with the agency.
In a statement released on February 5, 2025, NSA emphasized that all payments including the 20% and 10% administrative service charges must now be processed digitally. “This shift to digital payments offers greater transparency, convenience, and accessibility for those working with the NSA,” the statement read.
The GHANA.GOV platform provides multiple payment options, including debit and credit cards, mobile money, online banking, QR code payments, direct transfers, SWIFT for international transactions, and ACH transfers.
The NSA has directed all user agencies and stakeholders to cease manual payments at district, regional, and headquarters offices. “Henceforth, all entities must cease manual payments to any NSA staff… as this method of payment is no longer valid,” the statement added.
Stakeholders are encouraged to embrace the digital payment system to align with the government’s broader goal of establishing a cashless economy.
