Ghanaian gospel musician and visionary of the Tahilla Experience, Ohemaa Mercy, says she does not accept every invitation to perform, explaining that she often seeks God’s direction before deciding whether a particular platform aligns with her calling.

According to her, understanding the foundation and direction of one’s ministry is crucial, particularly for gospel ministers who must be conscious of the platforms and people they associate themselves with.

Speaking to Austin Woode on Starr FM, Ohemaa Mercy said she has on several occasions received invitations to perform at shows but had to pray about them before making a decision.

“There have been lots of times that shows that I’m supposed to go, and I pray over it, and the Lord said, ‘This is not your platform,’” she said.

She explained that her decision is not driven by hypocrisy or a desire to distance herself from certain people or events, but by the need to remain faithful to what she believes God has called her to do.

“Even if the show business part of it is very important, you need to understand what you represent, where you are going, and what you carry,” she said.

Ohemaa Mercy stressed that gospel ministers must be deliberate about how they present themselves and the environments in which they operate.

“For me, I need to be convinced, I need to have the directions of God, the conviction of God before I move,” she added.

She said the key consideration for her is whether an opportunity pleases God and reflects the gift and assignment she believes He has given her.

“Does it please the One that is holding me? Does it please the One that has given me the gift? Does it represent what I carry before I move?” she asked.

Ohemaa Mercy further advised Christians to ensure that their lifestyles reflect their faith, regardless of where they find themselves.

She noted that whether at the workplace or elsewhere, Christians should consistently demonstrate through their conduct what they represent.

“Wherever you find yourself, whether at work or elsewhere, your lifestyle should always reflect your Christian values and the calling you carry,” she stated
