The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has reiterated his commitment to human capital development, with a strong emphasis on youth empowerment in the constituency.
Speaking at a breakfast meeting with members of the clergy at the Abeka Presbyterian Church on Saturday morning, the MP outlined a number of initiatives in education, ICT training, and youth development, stating that several interventions are already yielding encouraging results.
“In our schools, we’ve been focusing on ICT training. Just last week, we hosted about 300 students as part of efforts to expose them to information and communication technology,” he said. “I’m happy to note that many NGOs have partnered with us to support this initiative.”
The MP also announced the upcoming start of free vacation classes, set to begin on Monday, April 14. The program aims to keep students engaged, safe, and academically focused during the school break.
“We want to ensure that their minds remain on their books so we can achieve the best academic outcomes. And so far, we are seeing very good results,” he noted.
According to the MP, over 500 students have already benefitted from various educational programs rolled out across the constituency, demonstrating the transformative power of such initiatives.
“It’s always inspiring to visit campuses and see what these students are achieving. My primary focus will continue to be on human development and empowerment,” he assured.
He also expressed gratitude to the clergy for their consistent spiritual backing, while the religious leaders in turn commended the MP for his hands-on approach and pledged their continued support through prayers and community collaboration.
The meeting ended with a prayer session for peace, unity, and sustained development in both the constituency and the country.
