The Bono Regional Police Command has finally restored calm at Sampa following violent clashes in the town, which resulted in injury to some police officers.
Several stores in the main market were also burnt as a result of the clashes between supporters of two rival factions, Sammordua and Samgba Gyafla.
A Police Statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Bono Regional Police Command, Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, said seven Police Officers who sustained varied degrees of injuries have been treated and discharged.
“One officer who sustained head injury has been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi for further treatment…,” the statement read in part.

The Police assured that they have intensified patrols in Sampa to maintain peace.
