Road to Jannah Foundation (R2J) has donated some assorted food items to the Mampong School for the Deaf and Blind.
The donation, which included rice, milk, sugar, water, biscuits, and cooking oil, is part of the foundation’s regular charitable efforts across the country.
Despite being an Islamic-founded organisation, R2J extends its support beyond Muslim communities, bridging the religious gap and providing essential items to those in need.
The Assistant Headmaster of the school, Divine Edem Kodadze, expressed heartfelt gratitude to R2J for their timely donation, which will significantly alleviate the school’s feeding challenges.
“In fact, this your donation today has come at the right time so I have a word for you. On behalf of the headmaster and the entire school, especially the students, I will say thank you very much for coming in to support the feeding of the students. Thank you and God bless you, Road To Jannah team and we assure you that the items you brought, we’ll really put to good use for the benefit of the students.”
He highlighted the school’s struggles with accommodation and feeding, emphasizing that the government’s daily subvention of 5.2 pesewas per student is woefully inadequate and irregular.
“This is a school for special children, especially deaf and blind. The situation they are in doesn’t mean they cannot do anything. What they need is support. If we are able to provide the right support, they will be able to realise their potential as individuals. I’m therefore calling on anybody who supports the school in one way or the other to come and support the school so that these kids can become assets to the nation.”
