We’ve dedicated $93m investment towards fostering national development – MTN

In a remarkable display of corporate social responsibility, MTN Ghana has revealed its substantial contributions to the nation’s development.

At a recent event, the telecommunications giant disclosed that it has invested a staggering $93 million in 157 projects, spanning various sectors, including education, health, and ICT, among others, across the country.

According to Agoo FM News, this significant revelation came to light during the 2023 MTN Eastern Regional Media and Stakeholders Forum, held at the Eastern Premier Hotel, Koforidua.

The event, themed “Building Platforms to Deliver a Brighter Future for Ghana and Beyond,” provided a platform for MTN Ghana to showcase its unwavering commitment to the nation’s growth and prosperity.

Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, the Head of Corporate Communication at MTN Ghana, shared the company’s inspiring journey of contributing to the nation’s development.

With pride in her voice, she stated, “MTN is contributing massively to the development of the nation,” emphasizing that the company has reached an impressive milestone of 289 million subscribers across 19 countries.

The $93 million investment in 157 projects signifies MTN Ghana’s dedication to driving positive change in key sectors that impact the lives of Ghanaians. These projects have undoubtedly left a lasting imprint on the nation, improving education, healthcare, and technological infrastructure.

In the education sector, MTN Ghana’s contributions have led to the construction of modern classrooms, provision of educational materials, and the enhancement of learning environments. This investment has undoubtedly opened doors to quality education for countless students, paving the way for a brighter future.

In healthcare, the company’s initiatives have resulted in improved medical facilities, increased access to healthcare services, and better health outcomes for communities across the country. Through these projects, MTN Ghana has demonstrated its commitment to the well-being of Ghanaians.

Furthermore, MTN Ghana’s investments in the ICT sector have been instrumental in bridging the digital divide. With the ever-growing importance of technology in today’s world, these projects have empowered individuals and businesses, opening up new opportunities and driving economic growth.

Ms. Fiagbenu also highlighted another noteworthy contribution: MTN Ghana’s annual payment of GH₵3.7 billion in direct and indirect taxes. This financial contribution plays a vital role in supporting the government’s efforts to meet its fiscal responsibilities and provide essential public services.

MTN Ghana’s commitment to making a positive impact on the nation’s development is evident, not only in its substantial financial investments but also in the transformative changes these projects have brought about.
