Withdraw ‘deceptive’ Kintampo S. DCE-nominee – NDC group

An NDC group in the Brong Ahafo region has called on President Akufo-Addo to immediately withdraw the nomination of  Alexander Gyan as the DCE  for Kintampo South.

According to the group, even though they do not challenge the power of the president to nominate an individual for the position, they do not think Mr. Gyan is trustworthy enough to head the district.

“He deceived people to invest into an unregistered financial company as manager of ”God is love” in Kintampo North and South.

“He also condoled and connived with God is love apparatchiks to dupe the contributors in Kintampo as fund manager,” the group said in a statement signed by its President Moro Zorngo.

The group is also accusing the  under-fire nominee, who is a former manager at the now defunct savings and loans firm, ‘Gd is love’,  of not paying back monies he took from residents of the area under the guise of saving for them.

The group joins a growing number of NPP youth across the country to challenge individuals nominated in the district by the President last.

Below are details of the statement

THE VOICE OF THE GRASSROOT(N D C) BRONG AHAFO

WE WANT IMMEDIATE REVOCATION OF MR. ALEXANDER GYAN AS DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE (DCE) IN KINTAMPO SOUTH.

We want to also state here and now that, pursuant to article 243(1) of 1992 constitution of Ghana and section 20(1) of the local government Act 1993, Act 462, the President has an absolute powers to appoint and disappoint MMDCES for which Mr. Alexander Gyan is no exception. We cannot and would not accept Mr. GYAN as district chief executive for Kintampo South for the following reasons:

1.He deceived people to invest into an unregistered financial company as manager of ”God is love” in Kintampo North and South.

2.He also condoled and connived with God is love apparatchiks to duped the contributors in Kintampo as fund manager.

3.He has not refunded the money he took illegally from the contributors as God is love financial services manager.

Looking  at the above mentioned reasons, we think that, he cannot occupy  the highest seat on the land and also,  he has no integrity to protect the public purse judging from the fact that, our president campaigned on protecting the public purse.

He has short changed his integrity by soiling  his name and his hands and that explains why he lost the seat to his opponent in the just ended Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Kintampo South.

As admonished by president Nana Akufo Addo that we should be responsible citizens and not spectators in his maiding speech on 7th January, 2017, we want our president to follow suit by revoking Mr.Alexander GYAN’s appointment.

Failure to do so will not serve the best interest of the people of KINTAMPO south. We give the President a three day ultimatum  to revoke his appointment as District Chief Executive.
