At least fifteen people have been killed following a head-on collision between a Ford Transit bus and an ambulance on the Kumasi–Sunyani road.
The Ford Transit, bearing registration number GT 5676-19, was en route from Kumasi to Drobo when it reportedly collided with an ambulance transporting a pregnant woman from Brobo to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for emergency medical care.
All 15 passengers aboard the Ford Transit died instantly at the scene. The condition of the pregnant woman and other occupants of the ambulance has not yet been confirmed by authorities.
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the Mankranso Hospital morgue as investigations into the cause of the accident continue.
