Black Stars’ defender Edwin Gyimah has joined Swedish giants Helsingborg after excelling on trial some weeks ago after mutually terminating his contract with South African side Orlando Pirates.
The 26-year-old sealed the permanent deal on Monday afternoon with the second tier side.
He signed a two-year contract after excelling on trial with the club following just seven days of training and playing in a friendly.
Gyimah moves on a free transfer from South African side Orlando Pirates with the mission of helping the giants to return to top-flight after being relegated last term.
“Edwin is a top player. He is overqualified for the league but he shall serve them on a short term and then move on to a bigger platform,” said Ryan Harrslief of Spain-based Bigtime Sport, the agency that referred the Ghana defender.
“The senior international looks to help the club gain promotion this season back to the Allsvenskan.”
