The Western regional chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Michael Aidoo, stormed out of an ongoing Executive meeting there, deepening the cracks within the party in the region.

There have been a lot of misunderstanding among factions in the party after their defeat in the 2016 elections.

The regional chairman two weeks ago issued out a statement suspending the regional organizer of the party, Japheth Baidoo and his deputy Thomas Asinai respectively for misappropriation of party resources.

Infuriated by their suspension, the two executives sued the regional chairman at the Takoradi High Court for “character assassination and defamation.”

Mr. Aidoo upon seeing the two suspended executives at the meeting, that was  being held at the party’s new office at Chapel Hill in Takoradi, questioned their presence at the meeting on the basis that they lack the capacity to be part of the meeting since they have been suspended.

Empire News’ Emmanuel Ohene Gyan reported that the regional secretary, Joseph Nelson told the agitated chairman, he invited them, the supposed suspended duo, because he the regional secretary has not signed any correspondence or has no knowledge about the said suspension.

This did not go down well with the regional chairman who stormed out of the meeting.
