Ghana have named two debutants Edwin Gyasi of Norwegian side Aalesund, Gideon Waja of WAFA  and six returnees in a 24-man squad for next month’s crucial 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Congo.

USA-based Kwadwo Poku, Joseph Attamah of Turkish side Basaksehir, goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Italy-based Alfred Duncan were all handed returns to the squad after previous stints with the Black Stars.

Key England-based duo of Christian Atsu and Jeffery Schlupp also return to the squad after missing the previous matches against Ethiopia, USA and Mexico.

The senior national team will host the Red Devils at the Baba Yara Stadium on September 1 before travelling to Brazzaville for the return encounter on September 5.

Captain Asamoah Gyan and his deputy Andre Ayew have all made the squad for next month’s matches.

The invited players are expected to start arriving in Accra from Monday August 28 to commence preparations for the two matches against their Congolese counterparts.
