Ghana’s U-20 Women’s team, the Black Princesses, have ruled out the possibility of them losing to Algeria in their France 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Algiers on Friday.
According to coach Yusif Basigi, who spoke with the media on Tuesday at the Kotoka International Airport before departure , said the team were mentally and physically prepared to face the North Africans.
He said weeks of intensive training and preparations had placed the Princesses in a good position to beat their opponent in the Africa qualifying series.
The coach said, “Ghana is a big country and will go all out to pick all three points. We will be in Algiers to give our best. The Algerians will face a herculean task come Friday.
“The team is made up of excellent players. Most of them have experience, having played at the Under-17 category. We are better prepared for total victory on Friday.”
The Princesses arrived in Algeria on Tuesday from Accra.
Ghana’s team will have the opportunity to train on the artificial turf today ahead of the Friday’s game.
The second leg will take place in Accra on Sept. 30.
