Authorities at the Ankaful psychiatric hospital in the Central region are pleading with organizations to come to their rescue due to delays in government support.
According to the authorities creditors are refusing to provide foodstuff due to the unpaid debt.
Grace Tetteh in an interview with Starr News said they will appreciate support from the general public until government comes to their aid.
She made these comment after receiving donations from the Warrior Wives prayer ministries Worldwide.
“These days, the government is not helping us like before. They used to bring money and all that but now even if it comes it delays so we have been buying on credit to feed the patients.
“Their drugs are expensive and we all know in Ghana psychiatric care is free but now because the government is not helping like before they have to buy their drugs and the drugs are expensive and also some of their relatives have neglected their relations.
“They are not coming, even at times the food we give them is not sufficient so if they have their pocket money, they will go and buy some fufu to substitute because here we don’t pound fufu for them.”
