An Accra Circuit Court has granted the embattled Director of Obengfo Hospital, Dr. Dominic Obeng-Andoh bail to the tune of GHc50, 000 with two sureties of persons who are gainfully employed.
Dr. Andoh, who was in court on Friday, June 8 pleaded not guilty to two charges of “practicing medicine without lawful authority and operating an unlicensed health facility.”
Dr Obeng was earlier charged with murder following the death of the deputy CEO of National Entrepreneurship Innovative Programme (NEIP) Stacy Offei Darko together with one other who is facing a charge of impersonation.
Both were remanded in police custody, but Dr Obeng Andoh’s deteriorating health condition resulted in his admission at the Accra Regional hospital formerly Ridge Hospital.
In court today, Dr Obeng-Andoh’s lawyers told the court that, they have filed a motion on notice for stay of proceeding at the High Court, but Her Honour Mrs Janet Naa Adjeley Quaye said she only has before her a motion on notice for stay and not an order for stay of proceedings.
Daily Heritage’s Court Correspondent, Muntalla Inusah who was in court reports that Dr Obeng-Andoh is still struggling with ill health.
The case has since been adjourned to July 6.
