Chaos engulfed Fanteakwa South Monday after the President’s DCE-nominee for the area Adjabeng Kwasi Ntori was rejected by members of the district assembly.
The nominee polled 10 yes votes with 15 voting against him.
The rejection of the DCE nominee angered his supporters mostly members of the New Patriotic Party who launched an attack on the assembly members accusing them of bad faith after taking various sums of monies from the nominee to endorse him.
They also accused the Assembly Members for attempting to derail the progress of the district.
The Constituency Chairman was also accused of masterminding the agenda to reject the President’s nominee.
The Eastern regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfuor, described the development as unfortunate, adding that the President will be informed to make a decision.
Meanwhile, Isaac Akomani Asamoah, DCE nominee for Atewa West District sailed through during the second round of voting having failed to secured 2/3rd of 24 votes cast in the first round.
