A team of Police Officers were attacked Tuesday at Agbogbloshie, a suburb of Accra, leading to the untimely death of a woman.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) David Asante Apeatu has since ordered the Criminal Investigative Department of the Ghana Police Service (CID) to immediately investigate the circumstances leading to the death of the yet-to-be-identified woman.
The team of Police Officers were acting on information that a robbery suspect, Nuhu Sule was hiding at a ghetto at Agbogbloshie with items he had stolen during a robbery operation the previous night.
The officers who were from the Accra Regional Police Headquarters, a Police statement signed by ACP David Eklu, Director General Public Affairs “were attacked when they retrieved the items believed to have been stolen by Nuhu Sule and had to call for reinforcement.”
Meanwhile, 15 suspects believed to have masterminded the attack on the Police have been arrested and placed in Police custody pending further investigation.
