A 17-year-old boy has drowned at Begoro in the Eastern Region.

The deceased went to swim in the Trudu Waterfalls with three other friends Thursday morning but allegedly drowned .

His body was subsequently retrieved by a joint rescue team and deposited at the Begoro government Hospital.

Assembly Member for Mission Electoral Area where the incident occurred, Hon. Kenneth Opoku, confirmed the incident to Starr News.

According to him, the deceased was a phone Seller in Accra but traveled to Begoro to make merry in the ongoing activities marking this year’s Ohum festival .

He said the Trudu Waterfalls is well patronized during festive seasons but this is the first time such an incident has happened.
