The Koforidua High Court One has suspended sittings for the past two weeks following the displacement of the Supervising High Court Judge His Lordship James B. Benson.

The shocking decision has left many lawyers and clients with cases pending before the Court stranded. It is not clear when the Court will resume sitting.

Starr News has gathered that the homeless Judge returned from leave two weeks ago only to see his official bungalow ripped off and broken into for renovation without notification and alternate accommodation arrangement by the Regional Administrator of Judicial Service, John Akoto, who reportedly sanctioned the renovation.

According to Sources, the Judge became stranded and  had to sleep in a hotel in the night of his arrival from leave.

The Judge who was upset by the situation subsequently took photos of the Bungalow and attached with a letter to the Judicial Service  headquarters in Accra stating that he has been displaced hence could not work.

Similarly,  the Courtrooms were reportedly messed up unannounced creating confusion among Courtroom staff.

The Registrar of the Koforidua High Court, Philip Yekple, confirmed to Starr News that the Judge is indisposed.

Attempts  to speak to the Administrator, John Akoto was not successful.

Meanwhile,  many stranded Lawyers  mostly from outside the Eastern Region expressed their disappointment over the situation and the fact that the suspension of sitting has not been communicated to them.
